    i was able to finally track down a windshield to match my top. when i bought the top, all the windows were broken... i had some 1/4 inch thick lexan cut for it. the window gaskets were finished so i had the windows cut oversize and then held them in with the screws you see there with large washers on the other side holding the edge of the windows down. They are sealed all around with black door/window weatherstripping caulk. I will probably do the door glass next year with lexan as well... it looks to be original and is very foggy. Took it for a mild trailride today (sorry no action shots... i forgot my camera!).
    I'm going to use a regular windshield in summer so that i dont have to keep it straight up like in the pic.

    so what do you guys think? how does it look? :)

    Love the straight up windsheild.
    Very cool. My Summit heater would make that thing a convection oven!

    Just bought mine from Summit for the Tellico trip, did not need it but it CRANKS out the heat. Pretty easy install Cut a couple holes in firewall for hoses.

    What heater did you buy? I have thought about putting one in my jeep, but the problem with the M38 is there is a battery where the heater would go.

    Here's a photo I have of an M38 interior, you can see the heater by the doorway (At least I think that's a heater). Pete DeBella might have one, and there's lots of other military Jeep parts peddlers out there.

    I bought the heater from Summit.
    Their part #SUM-991105 134.95
    You will need 2 hose barbs and some 5/8 heater hose, clamps etc.
    A Flex-a-lite Mojave heater will fit a M38 beside the battery box in front of the transfer case shifters.
    Both heaters are good units;
    the Summit is rated at 28000 btu 260cfm
    The Mojave is rated at 12000 btu at 140 cfm

    That looks pretty sweet. Now you just gotta get it painted to match.

    yup.. priority was to just get it covered. I'm losing my storage space and the snow is going to start flying up here any day now. thinking about doing the whole thing OD green next year with military markings, and looking for a big fat vintage winch to stick on the front.. (preferably an old 8274)

    you're going to like it alot this winter. I just got mine ready for winter also. It's been my experience with a heater running, inside glass fogging was a *itch. Herm the Overdrive Guy has a neat repro defroster duct. You might want to look into installing CJ5 wipers also. Other than welding Wrangler and CJ linkage together it's a straight forward install. Use Wrangler wiper mounts and linkage to CJ motor. Use the CJ connector at motor, cut its linkage off and weld to Wrangler linkage. 100x better than those small electric jobs. You don't want to grab hold of a wiper when it's on, trust me. [IMG]

    believe it or not, i dont have a heater in mine yet either... I dont know how many of you guys have been to montreal but the temperature up here can drop as low as -30 Fahrenheit (-35 Celsius)...

    looking at getting one in there VERY soon...
