Could you please post the part number you ended up using? I have a slight richness and was thinking about taking my carb apart.

I think I just got lucky last nite. I was out there with the vaccuum gauge to see what I could figure out. I had the starting fluid out spraying it around. The idle didn't go up but it smoothed out and the vacuum dropped when I sprayed it around the base. I thought that was wierd, I'd never caught it before, it was VERY slight though.

Pulled the carb off, the gasket looked like it could've been leaking on one corner, so I replaced it with one I had from the rebuild kit I had laying around.*

Now I need to retune the carb.

So last nite I was driving it, I was so excited I didn't have my wallet. I went past the gas station and started running out of gas right there. R) I made it almost home and got some, then drove home.

Clint, I'm not sure what PN I used, it's just one of the three or four that comes in the NAPA rebuild kit. I can take pics of the ones it's NOT for you. :D

*I've not had this laying around the whole time, I just rebuilt my carb again and Spoon's on his Commando two weeks ago.

I was sure this would hit 100 pages.

Congratulations on finding the problem Sparky. God I hope I don't ever have to diagnose something like that.

I could always go over to Sparky's in the dark tonight and cut a notch out of his new carb gasket. The thread might hit 100 pages after that ;)

Maybe a shotgun and a lawnchair would be in order.

Well Sparky I'm going to take a lesson from you...
I still haven't resolved my issue, haven't had time to work on it.
I'm definitely going to be looking for vac leaks, bolts tight, etc... and if I do rebuild the carb, checking for gasket fit/leakage.
Glad you got it resolved!!!!!!!!!
