IMG_1644.jpeg Okay. Did some digging today to decipher my serial number and confirm it is a CJ5, left-hand drive, open cabin, Dauntless V6 with emissions. It was also manufactured in Canada. Was not able to find the paint name, but did find the trim to be Charcoal Vinyl. The PO removed the air pump and plugged the ports in the heads. The tube from the oil bath air cleaner is not hooked up to anything at this point and it makes me wonder if it should at least be plugged. Any thoughts? You can see the open tube on the passenger’s side of the air cleaner.

I plugged the one on my ‘70.

Mine is a 67 with no air pump, and has a similar tube on the oil bath filter, albeit it points upward and is open so I think you are GTG IMHO.

Thanks, guys! Just wondered if it was leading or contributing to the excessive amount of oil and grime build-up all over everything under the hood. LOL Could just be from neglect over the years, or maybe the intake and valve cover gaskets were leaking. Probably a blessing that I had to pull the intake. At least it will get new intake gaskets. I went ahead and got valve cover gaskets too. We’ll see if it helps once everything is back together and she’s running

Here's a picture of my breather pipe on a non-smog pump version. Leaves a small smudgy circle of grime on the hood is all.

If it ain't leaking its out of oil I've been told!

Somewhere in a post on here someone mentioned that heart sick feeling when you get your first leak after everything is rebuilt and sealed...I now know that feeling and am adjusting my attitude to embrace that concept for what it is.

    Thanks for the pic!

Is that a heater hose to the left of the air cleaner? I notice the original heater core is gone from your firewall and maybe you have changed to the one mounted under the cowl behind the glove box?

The other thing I’ve noticed in pictures is my oil filler cap and pcv valve are on the passenger side. Yours, and others I’ve seen has the oil filler cap in the same valve cover as the air cleaner breather on the driver side. I wonder if it matters or if someone switched the valve covers around at some point in time

Greetings....I have not yet reinstalled my heater box after recently getting the engine back into the vehicle...so the hose is just bypassing for now. The rocker covers I believe are correct as shown based on the PVC hose from the carb being on the pax side. If only they could talk, them and dogs....then again?
