What does a brand new Jeep go for?
At least with this one you won't be just like every other tom dick and nozzle with an angry bird grille!

I think some people assume their vehicles are "worth" all of the $ that was put into them. It's a great looking jeep, but I don't think it's worth what he's asking. He states had the LS swap done by a shop, that's a lot of $ put into it.

Awesome CJ7. I wonder if it is smog legal? Not sure I would pay $55k. But that is not out of the ball park. I would pay $45k.

$20K for the LS conversion kit from Novak - basically all the drivetrain is brand new.

That’s exactly my thought as well. For that kind of scratch, you could pick up a new or next to new entry level Rubicon. Maybe an E4x4 wrangler if you never plan on taking your rig on dirt!

Is my beater CJ7 worth 20K then?

It is a very nice build. Must have a Dana 20 transfer case.

it's out of my price range . but as jeeps go
I would buy this over a new wrangler
    clean and V8

I haven't really kept track of prices on 7's, but this one made me curious. I went to BAT and looked at CJ7 auction results. The highest prices were a couple of super clean super low mileage stock Jeeps, which went around $40k. There were quite a few nicely built modified CJ7's in the high 20's and low 30's.
I think $55k is real optimistic for this one, probably about 15-20k too high.

I would agree. Im also struggling to believe that it would take 20 grand to do a Vortex engine swap. I could be wrong. Maybe that price includes labor costs?

20K is posted on the Novak website. It includes the complete drivetrain, all rebuilt, wiring, headers, etc.

That’s like the cheapest winch you can buy. (I know I had one).

Yep, complete LS kits for a CJ start at 18K, add the trans and Dana 300; shop proly charged 10K min for install (I know, I'm getting 4k for low install of my trans and t-case with my original SBC) Paint job is no cheapie, plus new seating and dash, new soft top, tires, and what looks to be a frame off resto.
Yeah, price is high, but welcome to L.A. And ad does say OBO.
Again, I'd rather have this than some Stalantis Yeep.
