I replaced clutch in 69 225 3 SPDR and now trying to hook clutch linkage up.
Think po had wrong pressure plate because both rods have been extended.
Also one pivot arm has been moved from about 180 to 90?
My question is which arm to use for clutch rod. One is 3 inches other about 1 inch but moved from original location.
Cross arm bolts to frame only.
    Thanks

The clutch linkage system on these Jeeps is one of the items that wasn’t designed to last 50+ years. Most all Original parts should probably be replaced or reconditioned. a couple aftermarket fixes include- Advanced Adapter chain linkage or a bigger job of firewall mounted swinging pedals with hydraulic cylinders.

Thanks for advice. Decided convert to cable like my 71. My new inline tube cable popped swagged end after 5 mintues....
PO 3:1 arm ratio lowered pedal effort lots.
Don't want fiddle with arm length get clutch release.

I've been running one of their cables for years on my 70, you must've got a Friday afternoon cable!

I did the Advanced Adapters chain conversion on my 67 and it works fantastic.

Same here. The AA chain conversion is awesome. So much smoother than the cable and bellcrank setup.

Does the AA setup give less pedal pressure?

Yes. I don’t think there’s technically a change in leverage, but it’s so much smoother that it certainly feels lighter.

here’s a link to the product on AA’s website. But it’s a little cheaper at summit using the link homersdog provided.

I think there is less friction involved. It does feel like there is less effort needed.

The other thing I did to remove friction was to eliminate the excess play in the pedals, which is common as the pedal arms get wallowed out over time. It’s basically a threaded rod and some washers, but it made a huge difference.

Only if you have binding or the geometry is off in the linkage. I wouldn't say mine is easier but it is smoother.

I went to swinging pedals, modified clutch arm and 1975 Land cruiser hydraulics with a braided hose. Built my own slave bracket.. Got tired of parts falling off and being crossed up so bad the clutch would not disengage.
It works very nice and the pedal feels good. Takes a small amount of getting used to as you don't feel the connection the same as mechanical linkage. The swinging pedal feels more natural and easy to use a dual brake
master cylinder. Found the parts on a 1973 cowl abandoned in the desert. Took the foot brake too and use the rear drums for the emergency brake. Everything Snowballs with a Jeep.
