    I’ve used bread when sweat-soldering copper fittings. Plug the pipe with it to hold back the water from getting the joint. When you fill the pipe later, the bread breaks up and flows with the water.

    Using it as a hydraulic fluid is something totally new… To me, anyway.

    Bread is easier to clean up compared to wheel bearing grease used for the same task.
