Headlight Switch?

The other night i had the old CJ out and had to turn on my headlights on the way home. After about 30 min of driving the headlights and gauge lights started blinking then when out I cycled the switch and they would work then go out intermittently. Could this be a fault in the headlight dimmer switch? I ordered another one to see if it would help.
I had an issue with the high beam switch, but that issue was always present not intermittent like this.

Sounds like the circuit breaker starting to fail on the switch

Don't understand. The floor dimmer switch is also the high beam switch which you have already replaced. The off/on off/on is the breaker on the light switch re-setting due overload caused by partial short in wiring or breaker becoming defective. It is located on the back of the headlight switch.

I got the new switch installed it. I ordered it on Amazon it is an Omix -Ada and appears to have fixed the issue since the problem was occurring intermittently and usually after about 30 mins of driving. Luckily i have a lot of rock lights and a few spot lights on a separate switch that i can run independently if it happens again loosing headlights on the road was not fun i'm going to run another few test runs off road before checking this off.

Heres some pics upper switch is the old one. i did notice a difference the new switch has a 14 in the lower left corner and the old one has a 15. I don't believe this has anything to do with the performance.

Relays to power the headlights helps this problem by taking the load off the switch. Tim has an excellent write up on this at the top of this forum page.
