....then the fan cuts the PS belt!!

I guess the easiest way out is an electric fan. Any other ideas?

They make fan spacers just for this. How much room can your fan move forward? It's hard to tell in the pic.

Fan spacer!!! Fantastic. Where would I get that? I’m heading out to measure it now.

Thanks. I just saw one on Rock Auto. That’s one of today’s issues that I might be able to fix.

U might consider a plastic flex fan?
Their cheap, and don't tear much up if they rub, and they get thinner with rpm!
    Bout 20$ I think? 20180822_113918.jpg

Your radiator looks too close to the fan for a spacer... Can you move the rad?

    X2 on radiator needs moving

Looks like an 1/8th” or 1/4” spacer would solve that issue. I would stick with that big solid fan since you aren’t running a fan shroud.

    The flex fan is thinner.
Might not have to move the rad.
If got one on all my classics, for safety (over reving) reasons.

That seems like a big job. I’d have to cut down the rear part of the grill and rebuild the radiator mounting. I think I have an inch to spare as is. I need to put the fenders on and see how it all measures out.

Is it the original grill ? The v6 grill is 3/4" shorter on the radiator side

    Bowbender I'm workin' on it!

I got a double pulley to bolt onto the harmonic balancer, my PS belt runs on the pulley closest to the engine.

I got some measurements and it looks like 1/2” spacer will be enough. I have about 1.25” in the tightest area(near the bottom hose).

    I’m thinking it’s the original V6 grill

Don't forget that at high rpm, the fan blades will be working hard to bend and pull themselves forward.

And the frame and body flex can reduce clearances.
