What's the VIN? A close-ratio T-18 could be factory equipment with the 258. You still have not told us the year/model/equipment, though it's clear from the pictures that it's an intermediate.

The factory bell crank and linkage should bolt on, and the parts you need will be easy to obtain. Done. You won't see any advantage in the hydraulic setup for the use you describe. Suit yourself...

He said that the linkage part for the clutch are missing, those part could be hard to find.

Hydro set-up it's easy to source and he will have a much smoother clutch.

Great looking Jeep project! Nothing to add in the clutch linkage debate but was noticing in the pictures that it looks like the forward spring hanger for your rear springs is too wide for your spring.

Good eye on the spring hanger! I have new leafs going on soon but once heard the intermediates suffered from this and needed a shim. Pictured set is a 4" Skyjacker setup which is soon going on Craigslist. I check the gap then.

    Earlier, I added the specs on my profile...74, 258, Toledo 4 speed/LHD..J4M835TA
I was a great purchase but still needs a few parts and some fab work. Still looking for the stock, non-tilt column if anyone knows where one is.....I do have a Flaming River new in the box and will trade plus a little $$$$..........

Very Nice! What is the chassis painted with?

Not sure what the PO painted it with. It is over 5 years old and holding up really well. Pretty glossy still. Was thinking POR15 but not sure.

I'm sure I will have several more questions on this CJ5. Should I just start a build thread, update this post or create new threads when I have questions?

By all means start a build thread but for questions the preference would be new threads- it will bring you more responses & helps out with future searches by people having the same issues/problems.
