I like driving 45 or so but the rest of the traffic thinks I should go faster. :)

I got my 6 out on I-44 one day from Sullivan, mo to Stanton, mo exit. Ran 75 with the traffic, and that's real as I use a GPS for a speedometer.
With the 37's and 4.56 gears it seemed fine. I'm not interested in doing that for much more than those 5 miles.

For whatever reason, it seems that many of these old Jeeps are lacking enough positive caster in the front end. Low positive caster will make the Jeep feel "darty" or "wander-ry" (is that a word?) or just plain out of control. I have mine set to 7 degrees positive and I can let go of the steering wheel at 70+mph and the thing goes perfectly straight.

My Tux has power Saginaw, and I just set the caster at 8*. It runs oh-so very straight and stable down the highway, but the 4.88's are the limiting factor speed-wise. The CJ2A, I bumped caster up 2* from whatever it was. I always increase caster on my old Jeeps.

Speaking of, where the heck are you guys getting caster shims for the stock width springs on the ecj's? I haven't checked to see what mine is at, but I know I don't have any caster shims in there.....

I added 6+ and it made all of the difference in the world. I think I bought my steel shims from Rubicon Express. I did have to do a little grinding to clear the U Bolts.
