Something Just Broke

    I don't know if this was mentioned earlier, but you put the hub on the axle before you put the key in the slot. Otherwise the hub may push the key in too far and it will ride up in the slot, keeping the hub from going all the way on. If you crank the nut hard enough it will start a crack on the backside of the hub. Put the hub on, line up the slot, insert the key and then put the washer and nut on and torque it.

    Picked up a (complete) pair of 11" drums for the rear D44. Finally looked at the front D27 and it's got 10" brakes, this leads me to believe, that at least the front axle is stock.
