Engine Swap…To Do or Not To Do?

Other thoughts.......
I would also think about ditching the rear disc option. Rears only account for about 30% of total braking. excessive rear braking can lead to lock up and that is bad juju. The fronts are fine along with a dual master cylinder.
I disagree. Rear discs with the electronic parking brake is one of the best things I have ever done! best parking brake ever in an old CJ.

I just did a complete motor, transmission and transfer case swap for a customer. With drivelines, crossmember, motor mounts, power steering bracket, alternator, radiator and new battery for 5k. 15 days of work. I got to save another Jeep and the customer has been driving it every day for the past month.

Most tear downs take years to complete unless you're Jay Leno and have a team working for you, I'd have another rig ready to go so the outdoor activities can continue while the years pass.

As far as engine, if it's being torn down and you have the skills and money, there are so many better supported options other than a 225. I would focus on the gear boxes and axles you want to run based on you're intended usage and terrain.

If this is not you're dream vehicle, I'd personally return it to stock configuration for as little money as possible but at the same time keeping it reliable. For hunting on the ranch, I'd rebuild the F134 and call it a day. I'd probably add a rear locker so I don't get stuck but that's about it.

The crate F134 is way overpriced. You can do it yourself for a lot less.

Also, paint it Yellow like so many I've seen. Seems like a good idea for hunting but I love my Canary Yellow jeep anyways. I think it's a neat color.

quality paint on the inside and outside woolwax or fluid film the bottom after paint...
What do you think about this product? It is a tinttable bed liner. I used it in my CJ and it has been very durable. IMG_0070.jpegIMG_1098.jpeg

Im not against liner, for me it has to be 2k as is the product you used and prep is the key. if it gets a scratch or gouge to the substrate touch it up with something, if the moisture can get behind the liner it can cause havoc. btw removal of 2k liner is a giant pain.
