Hard to Find FC 4-speed

Check out the length of the 2WD/Hi/Low range shift rod, from the radiator to the transfer case. I once drove an FC170 with the 4 speed. To say the shifting was vague was an understatement.
Driving my 150 isn’t much better, and my column-shift Tux is worse. It hangs up between 1st and 2nd where I have to crawl under to un-jamb it sometimes.

The joy of shifting an FC. I always tell people that you have to purposely shift out of one gear before trying to shift into another. There is no such thing as a quick shift.

SO you might be checking conditions in the Spokane area. I see 700 buildings have burned up and it looks like a big percentage of them are homes.

All in the Micky Mouse shifters. The usual Willys/Kaiser (ok, AMC, Chrysler/Daimler/fiat/Stellantis too) engineering, as in how cheap can we make this without totally destroying the company reputation. The latter two apparently no longer care. On my late father's FC150 I fit a Hurst 3 speed shifter in there. Problem solved.
