Under Seat Fuel Tank Bung

I'm working on the gas tank for my 66 CJ-6A Tux and I need to replace the fuel line outlet bung on the bottom of the tank. I believe its a 5/16' fine thread but more importantly it has the interior dip tube loop that has to slide into it from the back side. If anyone has a source for these it would be appreciated.

You don’t mention the engine you have, but the F-head used a 1/4” steel line which threaded into the outlet bung on the fuel tank which had 7/16”-24 threads with an inverted flare seat.

I don’t know, but maybe the V6 may have gotten a larger 5/16” steel line which would use 1/2”-20 threads with an inverted flare seat.

I’m not familiar with the “interior dip tube loop” you mention.

Thanks for the feedback, I have the V6-225 in the Tux although there's no remaining fuel line to know what was there before. The engine was fairly complete though and there were no hard supply/return lines over the top of the engine so I'm assuming they ran below, next to to oil pan (early 66?). I am probably wrong on the thread size for the bung.

Howard - It looks like your DIY set up had a hose barb coming off the bottom of the tank, did you run nylon lines to hard lines over the top of the engine?

I got a new metal tank with my jeep. The supply line uses an inverted flare. The drain plug is NPT. I don't remember the sizes. I had to find a nipple with NPT threads to misuse drain plug as a supply line.

Not a barb, it matches the stock inverse flare fitting for a steel line. I would not recommend nylon, or any other plastic, to carry fuel inside the engine compartment.
