Oil bath, engine compartment questions

I’m working on making the engine compartment of my 69 Jeepster more authentic where possible. A few questions:

1. Oil bath air cleaner: what do I do with the port that goes to the air pump when I don’t have an emissions system - plug it or leave it open? Does having this port on my oil bath mean that I originally had an emissions system with an air pump?

2. Oil bath cleaner part 2: what is the correct sticker for a 69 Jeepster with a dauntless?

3. Oil bath cleaner part 3: does the port that goes to the air pump point to the drivers side (mine does) or the passenger side?

4. Throttle system: should I have a dash pot and return spring like my CJ5?

Mine has the dashpot.
I have the paper type air cleaner so I can't help you there.

I have recently put a dash pot back into my CJ5 after many years without one. The dash pot does improve the handling a bit because the motor doesn't unload its torque as abruptly when the throttle is released.

I am a dashpot user as well....this was the one I used - don't know if its still available, or if they are a bit generic?

Looks like you have the correct dauntless sticker:

In my old photos - I can see there was a second text sticker (just to the right of the big dauntless sticker) that probably had the directions or something like that on it....I just went and looked at it for a better pic, and that sticker is long gone. Roy (@Beach66Bum) may very well have info on that sticker...

I plugged mine - well, I found it easier to get a rubber 'cap' to fit over the nipple - its from the local hardware - think its like the rubber end for a walking cane...works perfect:

This has got my curiosity! So far I have only seen the one decal (Jeep Dauntless V6) applied to this style/year of oil bath. But you can definitely see a second decal on yours. Possibly added at one time??

The earlier smooth top/non emission oil baths for the Dauntless v6’s just had a service decal, no “Jeep Dauntless V6” decal on the oil bath. (That decal was on the valve covers)
