This might be a tad long.. so here goes..
1998 XJ 2wd 4.0, ran when parked (snicker*)..
The next day no start. I track it down to no spark, fuel is fine and injectors are firing. My 5V reference bus is @ 5.2 V everywhere in the system i test it. I replaced the coil, mine had a crack but that's not it either. I do NOT have a pulse signal to the coil, I have 12V supply, but no pulse signal. ASD relay is fine, I even swapped that just because. I have tested the crank position sensor as fine, then replaced anyway. I did this because my scan tool sees 0 RPM while cranking, thought I might get lucky. At this point I'm thinking it's the PCM? that's pretty much all there is between the CPS and the coil. I've even tested the cam position sensor as OK but as far as I can tell it doesn't prevent the coil trigger signal anyway.
Any ideas I might be missing?
