Just got new tires for the CJ but I’m thinking I made a mistake.
Previously had an old set of BFG Mud Terrains from 1994. Stamped 33x12.5” had some rubbing when turning, to be expected and was able to fix it by adjusting the stops. Was never really worried about the rear tubs (but maybe I should have been?)
My body is fiberglass, with raptor liner.
Just had Kenda Klever 33x12.5” put on, and even though they are stamped the same, they seem way bigger. (Should have done a side by side but dad already disposed of the old tires.)
Did a quick “flex test” and they’re rubbing in the back. It will likely never see much, if any, off road action. Some sand time is more likely.
Should I just keep them and expect rubbing/approach any obstacle slowly, or go back to the tire shop with my tail between my legs looking for a 33x10.5 option? Am
I over thinking it?
The ride is night and day difference. Smoother & quieter, so I like them. I’m just worried about wearing arcs in the glass wheel tubs.
