After many weeks of watching a marketplace ad for a Purple 1970 Renegade one I couldn't resist any longer. My son and I made the trip to Washington and brought it home. The owner has a growing family and the Jeep wasn't a fit in his life right now.

Owner was a forum member and the below thread is when he purchased the Jeep back in 2022. He did a new BDS suspension, Bluetooth Stereo, Sorted out the Ross steering and other things I know I have missed.

No just years and years of oxidized purple.

Jeep runs fantastic. Just going to do some small things for now until a build direction is decided. Feel very fortunate that the owner passed this Jeep on to me.

The collection gets bigger!
 
Here are some details of previous work that was done on the Jeep. All the work I have found had been done very well.

The 4.3 Chevy V6. Holley 4 barrel, MSD ignition box and distributor. Nice job on the swap. They kept it V belt with the original alternator. Will need to add power steering later on so it will need to change a bit. Good clearance between the fan and radiator. Had a 4.3 air cleaner so installed it. Jeep runs very strong, Sad thing is now I know for certain the white Jeep has no power.

Scattershield, T14 adapter, Wrapped exhaust. Looks like the drivetrain moved back around an inch.

Dual Exhaust, BDS springs and shocks, No track lock tag on the diff. Tires are nearly 100% tread but have a few years on them.

Remote Oil filter. Needs a nut on the crossmember.

Same gas tank skid that is on the green Jeep. Really happy that came with it. Time to organize the spare parts room.

Old school half doors, Been searching for these a long time. Going to use these as a template and make a set in metal.

Went after some simple updates. Removed the bumper and winch. It was all welded on. Winch is headed to the flatbed. Chrome bumper went on for now. New wiper arms. Removed miscellaneous decals.

Removed the High Lift, New spare tire. New covers for the tail gate chains.

Removed the fender flares. Moving the blue tooth stereo to the Green Jeep. I know there is damage under the aluminum corners. Going to pull them off to see if the body is easily fixable or if we put smooth metal corners on and paint them purple. Need to buff the paint out again to the deeper purple. Very good first day of updates.

The original image may not be very large. If you right click on an image and open it in a new tab the image will display it's full size. The real issue is probably due to your low post count. I changed your profile from registered to member...That should solve it.
 
Tinkered on the Jeep today.

Tidied up around the passenger fender. Added an aluminum radiator overflow.

Cut out a rear rubber mat. Replaced the passenger seat bracket with one that I had. Wanted to be able to remove the seat. Picked up a set of Sanderson 4.3 headers off of Marketplace.

Awesome stuff! I noticed you don’t have any holes left in the wheel wells after taking off the flares. I assume they were held on by screwing into the inside arches?

I have so many holes left on the outside face after taking off the plastic flares on mine. (Trying to find the best way to fill them)

Fortunately they were a stock flare with 6 small screws so not too intrusive.

I have the same issue you have with flare holes on the green Jeep. Flare got ripped off and another set of holes were drilled in multiple times.
