Bent up the front hoop today. It seems to be pretty good. I need a couple more degrees on the windshield angle to get it right.

Got 3 hoops bent in varying degrees of acceptability. Only wrecked one. Still will probably need to get at least one more length for all the tie ins and what not.

What makes a cj2a different from other flat fenders is the windshield. It is squared, has a center upright and ventilates those adjuster arms are in the way for the A hoop. I had to cut holes in the tube that will be welded shut later along with tub reliefs. The A hoop follows the contours correctly now.
I understand this will weaken the hoop, but this is the best compromise for me. The hoop will have reinforcements and get bolted to the dash. There just isn’t a lot of room in a flat fender.

Later, when you get more comfortable bending:
* you take the legs up from the floor
* do a kick in-board on each side to clear hinges (mine had the lock on the outside of the hinge - seen some on the inside)
* finish like you did for the top

I measure everything from the 'dents' I get in the tube from the dies in my test bend. Mark along the side of the bend at 1" increments also helps figure needed tube length for such fun and games.

Square stock is 'different' yet... so there is that to learn too

Little more progress

Flat plates to bolt to dash made and will weld them up tomorrow.

Welder occasionally decided to have an unstable arc, stutters and posts. Nothing will change it and I have to walk away. This afternoon was like that.

Not the best pipe welder, but I can clean em up ok.
