CJ 6 Improvement

The speed sensor helps fine tune fuel ratio when the vehicle is running down the road. I used an aftermarket one. It screws into the speedometer cable. I had to find the right number pulses to match the S-10 speed sensor. I was able to find this number in the Factory Service Manual.
Although I occasionally get a speed sensor code. I do believe it is due to the motor is out of a 2wd S-10. When going downhill in low range. The computer has trouble figuring out why the RPMs are so high at such low speeds.
Thanks Scott, I did find and buy a factory service manual for the 92 S10 from Ebay. I found the pulse number and give that to Jeff at Novak. I included a speed sensor in my purchase. I'm hoping that this setup will work. I very well might have to change the settings on the DRAC unit to match the axle ratio. Was 3.08 in the truck and gonna be 3.73 (for now) in the cj6.

What size tire do you plan to run?
I realize you have a plan, but you might want to thing this through a bit more.
An automatic transmission with overdrive and 3.73 gears is a whole lot of work to waste the OD gear.
You should be thinking minimum 4.27 gears or even 4.88 to take advantage of the OD.

The axles that I have are already geared 3.73 and I'm gonna run the 30x9.50's till I get the rest of it to satisfaction. I'll either go up to 31x10.50 or 33x10.50 in the future and then I will regear and consider lockers. Simply a quicker way to get it driving.
