I bought. a radiator from Herm about 6 months ago and put it in the Jeep. I am finally getting to the cooling system to get it complete. i started with factory CJ5 v6 hoses. The upper hose i had to cobble together two hoses with a metal hose joiner and it worked fine. The lower hose i cut the cj5 lower to fit, didnt. seem like something difficult until i tried to put that hose on and the lower pipe on the radiator is larger than the waterpump pipe. i did measuring and it is 1.5 at the water pump and 1 5/8 at the radiator. Has anyone used a 90 degree hose that is 1.5 on one side and 1 5/8 on the otherr? and what is the parrt number?

A flex hose would be the easiest to find. The Gates flexible hoses are listed by size. I looked, and there are hoses that go 1.5" to 1.75" but nothing with an end listed at 1.625".

What length?

Flex hose would really work. it is pretty dang. tight. like each leg of the 90 degree turn is about 5 inches

I have an old gates catalog from 1995 , applications for jeep 225 v-6 engine shows
1969-70 lower hose 20355 1-1/2 x 14 ( 1-1/2 both ends )
1965-1968 lower hose 20473 ( 1-1/2 x 12-13/16 ) ( 1-1/2 both ends )
or 20168 1-9/16 x 17 5/16 ( 1-9/16 both ends , all hoses are molded .

The radiator i have the lower outlet aims right at the motor.
i. tried to boil the hose tonight to get it on. i got it on but i still had some morre to go on but it cooled off and would budge anymore.
I did find one that is 1.75 on one side and 1.5 on the other, i can see if i can clamp it enough to seal

Where is the outlet located on Herm's radiator?

I used a slightly trimmed Gates 20609 with my small block Chevy and ended up clocking the radiator outlet on the Northern aluminum radiator from summit. Couldn't find nary a single photo of that----

Well score:

Here are the parts I used although I didn’t get my rad from Herm. I walked back in the back of the auto parts store and looked around. Had to trim one and use an adapter on the other but it worked.

I prefer molded mostly because they look better
