Crap, I stop posting for a week, and I'm off the front page. Well, that's a sign of a healthy forum I guess.
Well, about 1 day before the big trip, I finally deemed Woodstock (version 4) ready. I had some last minute tuning, AFR needed some attention, and then it started running really well. So I decided, leave it alone, let's go.
Trip day. Loaded up the jeeps and headed out.
The jeep, even loaded for the Rubicon, just wants to go. It pulls Echo Summit effortlessly, and runs cool. About 170 highway, 180 on the longest 4-low climb (Walker Hill). So, I could not be happier. The mechanical fan, that I insisted on, is the trouble-free solution. I wanted that, worked hard to make it fit, and I am not disappointed. So, we wheeled in to Spider the first day, and internally, I was giddy, on how well the jeep works. Here we are at the back side of Spider, top of indian trail.
Nick and I at our annual father-son photo stop at Buck Island.
Evening in Rubicon Springs. This is what it's all about, for me. Warm summer nights, by the river,, with good friends and family.
Nick and I shot up Cadillac in the morning in one of the most drama-free climbs in our recent history, and that is good. No one wants drama on cadillac. The whole group of 17 made it in an hour.
So, I am finally caught up, (not done), with this build. It is time to enjoy the fruits of my labor, and we are going back in 2 weeks. I have some plans, and have already purchased some parts, for the next steps, next winter. Thanks for following to this point, and I really enjoyed everyone's input. It will continue...
