All I wanted to do was tighten up the brake pedal wobble in my new 70/V-6. Got all "new" stuff: lower pedal, pivot tube, and bracket. Opened floor pan; found stuff and learned lots! I have a chain clutch linkage, but it may be partially home-built or adapted.

When I finally got all the old stuff out where I could look and clean, I learned more stuff. Chain link is welded to end of pivot tube. Is that how it works? The biggie is the replacement pedal. In the pic, see how the stud for the pushrod link is different? Also, see how the pedal is just slightly different in length and angle of the bend? Look at the upper pedal hole. Not the same place, but maybe usable.

The pushrod stud looks to have been a problem before; it's kinda rough, as though it was welded and ground to fit. The MC is new; it was the last straw for the PO. Too much $ for him, he said. It is a two-circuit unit (can't think of how I'm supposed to say that)

At this point, I would almost rather bush the old pedal, (hello, Mike?) than try to convert back to stock, except I'd go with a Heim joint setup if I did. And that stud business looks dicey to me, but I gotta deal with it somehow.

Which way to go, here, folks? Work ended on a really sour note this AM, and I'm still so torqued I could spit blood, so, I ain't thinking right straight anyway.

probably going to regret I said this but the one on the right is from a V6 application. it looks just like 2 of them I have removed so far, one a 70 the other a 71.

Oh, goody. The one on the left is the one outta my 70. The one on the right is supposed to be a replacement for said 70. Feel like I'm about to jack up the radiator cap, and put a different thing under it.............

Indeed, the V6 pedal is no longer available new. I've adapted a 4-cyl pedal, the straighter one shown, to my '71 w/v6. Mcruff did re-bush my V6 pedal for me... I just haven't had time to install it (I keep forgetting about it  )
I recommend getting your V6 pedal rebushed, because no matter what you do with the 4-cyl pedal, it still doesn't act right
Get in touch with Mike (Mcruff), see if he's still doing this work.

BTW, I have the installation instructions for the AA chain linkage. I think it shows the pedal connection (not a weld ;) )
    Let me look for it...

OK, moved all 3 pages to a Photobucket album:
