What is the correct way to route a wiring harness to the rear? On the bottom of the inside of the left frame rail? Does anyone have a source for clips? Not interested in restoration. Just function.

When I wired the CJ6 I kept it all inside the tub as much as possible. I don't like wire bundles running down places exposed to mud, branches, etc.

The harness on my CJ-6 stays inside the body until it gets to the rear corner, then goes through a grommet in the top of the wheel house. This is new for '75, as I recall. Makes sense though, and goes along with the all-new electrical system for 1975. The harness is in plastic split loom, and the body is made with sheet metal tabs that are bent in to hold the loom under the edge of the body.

same here. As long as it’s modern coated wire, inside a split loom protector, i’d rather the wire is inside.

I run mine inside the frame rails and use weather tight plugs between things so I can take it apart easy - tub, frame, motor etc...

That is also what I do. If the frame is boxed, it makes it a little more interesting but wires inside a boxed frame are well protected. I use Weather Pack or Metri Pack terminals.
