Many years ago I swapped to a reproduction ‘69-75 windshield frame (with the wiper motor on the driver side, outside the cab). The wipers lock up instead of swinging back and forth and I am theorizing that the wiper motor has the wrong arm on it.
The arm that I have is marked 1025-1. Can someone tell me what year CJ this arm is supposed to be used on?
    Thanks!

If it's from a CJ, AFAIK there are only two possibilities - '75 and earlier, and '76 and later. Seems unlikely that an arm from another type of vehicle would be close enough to seem to fit. The number has nothing to do with the Jeep PNs, again as best as I can determine.

Maybe you put it together wrong? The arms go below the pivot axes. Replacement arms have been fabricated for these windshields by lengthening the parts for a '76-up windshield. This was done first by an owner, and later duplicated for sale by Barney's (?) Possible you can find a post about this if you search.

Thanks Tim. It was originally put together with all Omix and MD Juan parts, except for the motor and pivot arm

AFAIK aftermarket (other than George's) never supplied the linkage for the earlier windshields. All the parts for the later windshields were available, and those links were modified (lengthened?) to work with the earlier type. The pivots are the same, and the later motor can be modified to work on the earlier type - just remove the support bracket on the end of the motor.

Have they ever worked since tha swap? I’ve run into a few replacement frames that had the holes in the wrong spot and needed work to get the pivot points at the right spacing.

They did initially work for about an hour, until a gust of wind nudged the driver side wiper and it moved out of synch. I think Tim called it, I have a third gen wiper arm. One of today’s projects is to make it adjustable and play with the length.

After some trial and error I settled on a wiper motor link length of 7 15/16” between the pivots and they work great with full sweep, with the motor arm clocked to 8-8:30 o’clock-ish.
(The Omix 19105.07 link that I started with was 9 1/8”).

    Good work!

At some point, we should put the lengths of the original linkage in the technical library somewhere.

Thanks. I do not recall what right side/long arm I used but I would bet that it was the Crown J5450662 which is listed as for the 72-75.
