Anyone know when Jeep quit offering the PTO winch and went electrical or was there an overlap and you had a choice? This may be a dumb question if winches were a dealer installed item. I'm curious when the 1st electrical winch was installed on a new CJ5. Thanks, Greg

PTO driven from the back of the transfercase ended w/ the 72 model year but there was a pto that attached to the bottom of the 20 transfercase too. As long as the T18 tranny was available or a 20 transfercase so was a pto driven winch.

Wish I knew. Last week I had two winch pto's for a M38/M38A1 and one for a 18 transfer case CJ5. They all sold. Might be getting two twinstick ptos for a CJ too.

Could an electric winch be factory ordered before 1972? If it was a factory option what was the 1st year available? And who was the manufacturer, anybody Know? Greg

Twin sticks are just that. Most front rear pto's run simultaneously. Some twin sticks allow the independent operation of the front and rear outputs where others are front only and then both.

I've got a Koenig PTO that was original on my old '66. But freight to the East Coast would break the bank for you. You should be able to find something closer to home.

Do you have the winch or just the PTO unit? If the winch I may be interested depending on which model it is.....
