I've never seen a 4x4 pillar in a wagon before. Was that an option?
Not in and of itself.
From O.K. Peterson's Definitive Guide To All Things Jeep: it was "part of the seldom-requested 'high-hood' option" (not to be confused with the CJ3B).
Not sure what this actuallty is. Pre-'50 front sheetmetal, has tail light provisions in the corners which started in '53, but it has the '60-up rear upper tailgate, but the lower gate has the surface mount light holes. Column shift mechanism still intact in engine bay. A mis-mash of everything wagon.
