    • minor wiring problems here and there, such as windshield wipers and glitchy high-beams

    General description:

Used as a hunting vehicle in Mississippi, 99% used on mud and gravel roads. I've had it since I was in high school and am most of the way through a rebuilding period as you can tell from the lists above. I've given it a lot of use this year, the motor runs great. The jeep can handle a very impressive amount of mud for its size. The chassis is in good condition, no known problems. I have a roll bar that can be included. No lift, factory height.

Will post more pictures when I can get them.

That thread has guidelines - and it appears you followed them.

JMO - it's hard for me to say given your location. I'd put a range of say $2000-$4000. I may change that after I look at the pictures more carefully. If it does not run and drive, price has to be much lower since the buyer takes on a lot more risk.

The V6 never came with the T-98. How was that accomplished?

Why do you want to sell it?

My initial reaction based on my experiences here in Colorado - which may not be all that applicable to Mississippi - is around $3500 for a good running v6 (with a 4speed in this case) and not too much rust?. Some more pictures - especially of the typical rust repair areas like the floorpans and hat channels etc - would probably help get more info. Maybe $4000 on the upper end if you clean up some of the little issues.

As I understand it the V6 did come with the T98 for a short time, is that not right? I was told it would just drop right in there and....nope! Took a lot of work and a few custom adapter plates to make it go in there. But it's in and it works. The jeep runs and drives nicely, my main reason for exploring selling is that I'm getting more interested in trying out a more modern jeep.

Fact: No one in MS will know or care what a T98 is. I think it's worth $3500 atleast but it might take awhile to sell for what you want locally.
There hasn't been a Jeep made since 86' or in some folk's eyes 1971. ;)

Nope, though it would be easy to mix up the facts. The T-98 was available with the F134, not with the V6. The close ratio T-18 (without the "granny gear") was available with the V6 in 1971, but they are scarce. Likely you had the one that originally was paired with the F134, especially if it came with an iron adapter for the Dana transfer case.

No mention of title, that may or may not be a problem for the buyer. Looks decent in the photos. I'm along with the $3500 - $5000 crowd depending on actually standing in it's presence.

I'd finish this before trying to sell...none of the other problems sound like they'd prevent it from being driven but no brakes means no test drive which would significantly reduce the value IMO

Thanks for the replies, that price range is about what I expected. Odds are I'm sticking with what I've got mostly due to sentimentality but after a frustrating year of fixing endless little things I started to get frustrated and entertain alternatives.

Well, it's not a ton of money going toward a newer Jeep. If you want to try the newer Jeep, I'd say put this one aside, get your newer Jeep and see how it goes. It would be a shame to sell this Jeep and later realize that the early Jeep was more fun, or your emotional connection to this Jeep was stronger than you thought.

Value is directly related to many things, title, running or not, overall condition, options present (V6, overdrive, winch, hard top, soft top, lift, tires, wheels other add ons, and how well they were done) originality (to some), modifications can be good or bad depending on the buyer and how they were done. I've seen some "professionally restored Jeeps" that I wouldn't get out of an electric chair to ride in. Your Jeep is my favorite period for Jeeps. I have been looking for a replacement for my '66 CJ6 in Texas and surrounding states, I would describe your Jeep as an honest for a user/driver, I mean that as a compliment. Looking at the pictures, $3000-4000, I think is a realistic price. Good luck!
