What do you think is the best way to ground something?

So as I rebuild the old girl I am seeing how the factory grounded certain parts of the electrical system. Particularly the motor to frame ground strap, the pigtail of the battery negative cable to the firewall and in the back of the Jeep what I believe was a ground wire for marker lights screwed to the frame.

The question is what do you think is the best way to redo these grounds to ensure a solid connection that will last for a long time.

Here is what I think: Since everything will be newly painted I was thinking that for anything that needs to be grounded to the frame or body I will sand a very small spot down to shiny metal, drill and tap a whole (if not there already), with a new connector on the wire tighten it down as tight as possible and spray paint over it to prevent rust.

    Better ideas??

I think I am going to. I take it they just offer more "bit" into the metal right?

Where I know before painting that I'm going to need a patch of bare metal for a ground or a spot weld I apply paper stickies.

After painting a razor blade takes them right off & leaves a nice neat bare spot.

And remember folks, only use genuine "Monkey Brand" stickers for all your masking needs...

I'm running dedicated grounds to everything. They will all meet back at the factory tub mount location to join up with that negative battery pigtail.
