I guess I never thought I’d be doing anything worthwhile to start a build thread but I guess I should!

Had to change the Lt fr wheel bearing on the blue one. Been hearing a noise lately but could not hear well enough to know where it was. Near 40 yrs of heavy eq has taken a heavy toll on my hearing, so I got the wife to ride with me a few days ago and she pointed to the Left front wheel. Got my parts from RA yesterday. I've had some problems with the starter also lately so I took care of that problem while I had it in the air. Sorry no pics.

So fellas here it is, my rattle can paint job. Buffed and waxed. I am working on starting a build thread but that may take a little while so I figured I’d share the end result here. Tomorrow I’ll mount the rear bumper back up and finish up a few odds and ends. So what did I do to my Jeep today? Put her in the sun and enjoyed the new look :D

I also painted my fire extinguisher so it would blend in a bit

Don't spill any lacquer thinner on it. DAMHIK! ( That means "don't ask me how I know," not "Damn Hick" by the way)

    Those are good pictures too!

I'm wiring up my '68 CJ5. I'm using a CPP steering column that has an integrated blinker switch. I needed a way to add blinker indicators to the dash. Since I've got separate meters for volts and oil pressure, ITLKSEZ suggested using the ammeter and oil pressure warning lights in the speedometer as blinkers. I tried it and it works well. Here's a 7 second video of the blinkers in action.

Laid down the primer today. Plan to paint it tomorrow. I was shocked how many more flaws appeared after the primer went on. Not planning to do any more body work. Just going to put a couple coats of paint on. I think I will grab a can of bed liner paint for the inside.

The steering box brace thread got me to thinking, and being the cheap bass turd that I am I have to go with lowest cost but appropriately mechanically sound system that I can find. Rugged ridge makes a brace for late model AMC CJ's similar to the M.O.R.E. type. They sell them on Amazon.
    https://www.amazon.com/Rugged-Ridge...race&qid=1558231275&s=gateway&sr=8-2-fkmrnull

The Braces out of the box are too short for an early CJ5with the Advance adapters steering box bracket. The braces are 7/8 tubing with 1/8 wall. I cut mine in half. Went to Ace and bought some mild steel 5/8 rod. Stuffed the rod into the tube but left a little slop on one end to allow adjustment. The pictures should explain where I am going with this. I weld it up tomorrow.

Got the first coat of paint on today. I will give it 24 to cure then wet sand out a few irritating fisheyes that developed due to some water droplets flying off the plastic during paint and a couple of suicide bugs. But for what it is I am content and at $97 dollars all in for paint, primer, thinner, catalyst hardener, inline dryer, inline filter, respirator and rags I am content.

It was supposed to be more of a caterpillar yellow but looks more closer to school bus yellow to me but I actually really like it.
