Adjusted valve backlash and painted a few things. First time ever doing this, very cool! Runs like a sewing machine now, much smoother and quieter. It all started because my rocker arm cover gasket was leaking. Also at full operating temp, is 25 psi at idle and 40 psi under throttle good oil pressure for these F-heads?

Is 60 too high? I changed the oil 15w 40 diesel oil, and added some Restore and STP and now gauge is at 60 at startup eventually goes down to 40 after engine warms up, but also noticed engine temp is hotter now too.

Installed a new vacuum can. Peened the hole in the breaker plate, redrilled to size. Eliminated all slop. New weights, springs, and limiter bushing havent arrived yet so this is as far as I can go. So I'll have some cold chicken.

Filter housing adapter has been lapped on a granite surface plate, and today I applied a Bulltear stainless midplate using Permatex anaerobic gasket maker. Removed all surplus sealant with Q-tips. Now time for Oreo pie.

Sorted out my backup light issue. Put the fuse in....went through the column connector and everything works reliably now.

I glued a stainless midplate from Bulltear to my lapped filter housing, then lapped the stainless plate. Then I had some Sprite with a touch of bourbon. Or was it the other way around?

Full disclosure: it was Black Velvet that my wife bought for me so it needed SOMETHING. I suspect bringing home BV is her way of hinting that I shouldnt drink it. Well, I showed her!

Made ready my timing cover assembly. New gears loaded, packed in vaseline. Installed studs with loctite 242 in distributor bolt hole and fuel pump flange. Verified end play between pump and distributor. Changed oil filter adapter to take modern filter with internal bypass. Blanked off the problematic bypass in the filter housing.

Soaking Rollmaster in 30W mixed with some Lucas break-in juice. I guess I'll make some chicken salad for lunches next week, but I really only wanted the can.

My wonderful wife was only mildly curious about what I was cooking on the coffee maker.

Working on an old reject speedo asm my dad had trouble with. Didnt like how the green backlight domes were attached so laid on a little JB Weld, then had a beer. The Champaign of beers, actually. But Light, to maintain my Perfect 10 rating.
