Not on one of the Jeeps but will and has been. Put some new tires on the wife's van, and I have a set of MTs coming for the XJ's backup set of wheels. And welded some unistrut on a buddy's bed rack for overland goodies that he wants to attach to them.

Bled all 4 corners with the new master cylinder installed.
Got about 90% of the crap pulled to get the T18 out. 1 tank of kerosene was enough. Time to go push snow....

Did a bunch of little projects this weekend.

bought a reproduction gas pedal and modified it to work with my existing linkage. Cut off the rod in the back and welded a little tab to the bottom to stop it from flopping forward. Added a skateboard bearing to the spot where it contacts existing linkage and it’s smooth as butter.

Installed hella e-code housings and added relays so I can actually see at night.

reinforced my bumper so I can mount a flat tow hitch.

replaced my speedometer, which had totally crappped out. New speedo is smaller, so it’s in a temporary housing that I made out of plastic. Plan to eventually clean up the dash by mounting all the gauges in an m38 style instrument panel.

removed the ugly rubber passenger grab bar and replaced with a reproduction of the original style.

Finally got my carb linkages sorted out. Added a spring to keep the choke from creeping while driving, and added a hand throttle cable.

installed longer front shackles and replaced the rotted frame bushings.

My old horn stopped working (I eventually fixed it, but don’t trust that it will be there when I need it) so I ordered a new horn. Kids wanted an “ooga” horn because they think it sounds funny. It was bright chrome, which didn’t fit the look of the Jeep, so I gave it a paint job.

    also changed the oil.

Pulled the transmission, bell, clutch, flywheel. I can say the cam plug, oil gallery plugs, valve covers and intake are not the culprit. All dry up there. Ran the crap out of the kerosene heater to warm things up ( almost cooked the paint off the front bumper) pulled the distributor and ran my priming tool while looking underneath. Nada. Backed the plugs out and rolled it over by hand while looking. Nada.
The GN/T type boards are rife with 3.8 leak issues. It's either the rear seal, side seals or pan. They also swear by cork, not rubber, and throw the torque specs out the window for the pan gasket.
I'm going to make a bar stock " girdle" to span the back 4 bolts to get even clamping first. If that doesn't work change the rear seal to a more forgiving rope style, go back to a cork gasket.
I got the flywheel back on, clutch and bellhousing. Stab it back in tomorrow.
Seriously considering making a new dust shield that will keep the flywheel from slinging it around, potentially fouling the clutch, if nothing works. Guess I'll park it on the gravel...

I finished the floor supports today. It's a bit of patchwork quilt, but it only cost me gas and wire for all the floors.

so, a while back we broke a leafspring, and we've been running it like that (not on any serious terrain)
here is what the shackle angle should look like, vs. what it does look like. (not referring to homemade shackles, they work fine)
here's what the back spring mount should not look like

@Bostonbob dropped off a set of leafsprings today, and we're waiting on bushings from o'reilly's, but tomorrow it sould all come together.

i'll be able to drive it without worrying about the spring slipping off the frame rail and crushing the exhaust/fuel lines

The last "welds" my MM35 made before puking yesterday. I have to get a carbide burr and sandpaper rolls to clean this up and go back over it.

Replacement for the old MM35. I figured I'd give the Hazard Fraud a try. The Titanium lineup is noticeably cheaper than the Vulcan so that's how I ended up with this one. So far it's welded 1/4" with no issue and it's 5x "smoother" than my old unit but I have a feeling it won't run for 30 or so years like the Miller either.

I got the EEbrakes wired up and they work. For anyone that does the EEBrake swap, this might help you. I wired mine to a fused key on position.

Added a diagonal bar. Should be ready to pull the cage after I mount the rear shocks.

That’s the same welder I have. No problems. It sits against the wall for 99.9% of its life.

Thanks to Norcal for this idea. I saw his post about the Ram mount and ordered the parts from Amazon. It was delivered today so I went out and installed it. Here's his post, Norcal69's Common Sense Build.
    It's post #726.

Here's a picture of mine in the CJ6. I had to angle it slightly due to the dash pad.

Ram is my go to for mounting things in vehicles and on bikes. I have an X-grip on my 76's dash too.

Today I spooned on 4 new MTs for my XJ's backupwheels. I use these for trips I know I'll be off pavement a lot. For daily running back and forth to work I have the stock lace wheels with some basic all terrains on them.

I had this fuel tank all figured out. Now I need to go back to the drawing board with the fuel pickup but other than that it fits like a glove. It could've been a few inches deeper.

Had these brackets cut out for the shocks.

Well, here it is in all its glory. Yep, that's 5/16 brake line hand bent for a pickup, return, and vent. You can somewhat weld brake line. My 99¢ paint ran like water since it was about 37° but the Rustoleum blue did the job surprisingly. I took carb cleaner and wiped off the overspray on the pickup, return, and vent afterward.

Barely noticeable. :) The filler neck is a piece of threaded pipe with a cap. Nothing fancy and real cheap. I'll make a bracket to bolt it to the tub and this can be wrapped up.
