I agree with the shot gun. I take the shot out of the round and replace it with laundry soap. First round in the celling, flash affect. Round #2 in their face. Third round ain't soap. Don't forget to close your eyes if it's dark in the room or you'll be as blind as they are. Ron

We have defined areas of fire for the missus and I, as well as the oldest boy. The youngest ones mission is to hide until they hear the all clear, under the oak drawers in their heavy oak beds. The fronts of the drawers are reinforced with 2 inches of white oak in addition to the drawer face themselves. They can get in position in seconds. I agree on the knives, last resort only. Missus, me and CJ all shoot center mass or in the face.

    I like guns.
Home defense = shotgun. Just the sound of a shotgun cycling will send bad guys running.

We rely on a layered approach:
    Live rural,
    low-profile house,
    alarm system,
    solid core doors,
    dogs,
and then a brace of loaded, high quality weapons. My current setup is a Ruger PC carbine in 9mm and several 9mm semi’s all with lights (very important, imo). Also might have a double barrel coach gun around “in case of close encounters”. :D

Got the floorboards and patches stitch welded in and sealed. One set of patches i made a little oversized and went with a gauge heavier steel and did a full seam weld on both sides because thats where the seatbelts will be bolting through.

Hoping to get the underside and maybe the inside of the tub primered and painted tomorrow. Then try my hand at Bondo for the first time on two patches i did on the side of the tub.

Goal is to squeeze another 3 to 5 years out of the current tub then drop a new one on possibly

I have a Mossberg .410 pump, nice gun. I think it’s called the Home Defender but I’m not sure. I got it years ago when my dad (a WWII marine) was older and wanted something that he could still handle. The gun has an 18 ½” barrel with a pretty open choke; the muzzle has a flash enhancer that gives the appearance of a larger gage shotgun (larger diameter tube and bigger flash). It came with a pistol grip fore stock and a standard rear stock but you can get a rear pistol grip. With two pistol grips it is short but awkward.
To get back on the subject of the thread. Last Saturday I rejetted my carb after Colorado. I reset the timing too.

That's what the Patrol Officers had , clamped vertical, to their dashboards. Got one next to our bed. The best for shotgunning from the inside out......... Ya know what I Mean ?

Replaced the inner and outer oil/grease seals on my rear D44. I was seeing oil leaking on the inside of the backing plates. Upon inspection the oil also washed the grease out of the bearings. Only 5000 miles on the seals. Is 5000mi a normal wear period?

Took my Monroe Three point lift hydraulic cylinder to a shop to rebuild. Sand blasting parts, cleaning, painting and replacing snap rings, waiting to put everything back together. Have already mocked hitch up.
