Ok so I went to put the rear output back together. Double sealed with 2 Timken 473229's is the only change I made. Put the parking brake back together, yoke in place with the felt seal in its housing, and the c shaped washer that goes over it. When torqued, the shaft starts to bind. OK, I figure the 2 seals took up too much room and I should take out the felt and the washer. Now it goes on without binding, but the yoke nut seems to be bottoming out of thread long before I get even close to torque. Am I missing something obvious.

Do you have a washer under the nut?

yes. the washer that was there when I took it apart. Also forgot to mention the brake drum seems kind of rattley. But I think that only goes tight when the driveshaft is bolted to it?

OK, so I took it all apart again and tapped on the oil seals a little more, put it back together with the felt and it went together fine. Torqued to 165, still turns freely. I don't know what happened, but I'll take it.

Did you put RTV on the splines?

Sounds good to me, I had not heard about double seals until after I had already finished putting it all back together, and in. I didn't put sealer on the output shaft, I had oil in my brand new parking brake, so I pulled it all apart again and Brake Cleaned everything out, put sealer on the spline, and now it will lock the up like it should.
