Anything I can do with this short of taking it out and see if it can be welded?[IMG]

someone may be willing to weld it in the chassis. A good welder will isolate the heat and do it in small increments so not to hurt anything around it.

    Any idea what caused it?

any problems? Was it leaking coolant or compression?

What caused you to find it?

I was loosing coolant and thought the head gasket was blown. As far as the cause don't know. I've only had it for 3 years. Was well maintained by PO. Only has 20,000 miles on it.

Oooh man. When I looked at the first pic I thought that was the head; the remaining pics make it look like you are talking about the block.

Even if you found someone the weld it in the vehicle I would think you would still need to have it machined flat again to get it to seal against the head gasket.

That the flathead from your 2A??

You ever forget to make sure you were running a 50/50 mix of antifreeze in it?
You may have to take it to a shop to see if that can be welded and ground back smooth.

Take a few minutes and pull it... It'll have to be milled after it's welded..
