    Hi,

I need to access my front wheel bearing for re-packing and adjusting (or replacing) and I read the shop manual to figure out what I have to do. The instructions in the book are pretty clear however I have a set of Warn manual locking hub on my jeep and I'm pretty sure I have to take them off correct?

In order to take the Warn locking hub off - do I have to take the cover off by un-screwing the allen bolt, then the two snap ring etc... and pull the guts out OR do I just unbolt the 6 big nut and pull it off?

Sorry I have to ask - its the first time I do this.

    Thanks

^For the hub pictured in the top picture, remove the 6 Allen screws, slide out the outer cap and locking mechanism, remove the snap ring on the end of the axle shaft, remove the 6 3/8 bolts, then remove the hub body.

For the lower hub, remove the 6 3/8 bolts & the outer hub, remove the snap ring, then slide off the lower portion of the hub.
Be aware that some guys don't use the snap rings on the axle shafts so don't be alarmed if they're not there.

    Thanks guys,

I definitely have the top ones.

I also ordered the big socket needed for the bearing nut(s)... should be at my place soon.
