I've searched the threads but am still confused about proper wiring.
I have an older model 8274 (front mount winch controller).......it has 2 solenoids, top left has a 00 cable about 6' long, top right has a smaller 0 cable

Can anyone tell me the proper wiring....seems I'm missing a 00 ground

I've looked on the Warn site but havn't found what I need there
    thanks, Jim

this one shows the 0 wire upper right soelnoid.....it attaches to what?

the 00 wire attaches to the bottom left soelnoid......it attaches to what?
I'm assuming there should also be a 00 ground wire...from battery to where?
    thanks, Jim

    thanks for the link.....copy/save
on his winch he says the battery+ connects to the upper left solenoid, on mine the cable as I got the winch is hooked to the bottom left solenoid
also I received the winch there's the stray smaller wire that's hooked to the upper right solenoid
not liking the ground going to the screw on the end of the motor housing....I guess I could weld a stud, BUT seems if it came this way from the factory.............................
still have some figuring out to do :(

my "rogue" smaller wire is going by by
gonna wire a switch into the cab as well......just need 3 wires a 12+, a wire to solenoid power in, a wire to solenoid power out

I read a thread here a while back that had a dash mounted switch specifically for winches. It had a guarded power switch with two instantaneous switches (one out one in). They looked good. My failing memory says that they were about $40.

I think that I have the URL for the company on my other computer.... I can check this afternoon if you are interested.

    Hmmm....

If you use the search engine you can find what you are looking for.
    :)

Try this URL: http://www.12voltguy.com/web/. I see one for $45 but it seems like there was more of a selection....

Not a problem. I've been thinking about putting one on my jeep.
