But touché... the TC mounted brake has clearance issues. :)
I just looped these up off the ground to be able to wheel it outside. They actually shoot out of the backing of plates at an upward angle. They'll get tucked up out of the way nicely. I have a plan. :sneak:

    YES.

Yes. Having the body off my dad's jeep this spring kinda opened my eyes to the possibility of doing mine as well. In the end it'll make my Jeep turn out alot better...

The seal and gasket kit arrived from Sweden (sort of kidding), so I was able to properly seal the M45 trans. It’s interesting how the nose cone, main and countershaft bearing retainers are built into (part of) the bellhousing. Total disassembly of this trans would be the easiest thing ever. Remove the two ends and all the bearings fall out.

I’m finally back to where I was nearly 2 months ago, except now everything is clean and painted. I’m so tired of - scrape crud, wipe with solvent, paint, repeat...

    Look at that Redblock shine!

Where are the yellow marks that the bolts or nuts have been torqued correctly for the inspectors?

And every time you adjust something you have to use a new color and paint the old lines over with a sharpie.
To be honest my Carburetor screws are marked so I can get them back to the right spot.

Body will be on and off 20 more times. No paint yet. I need to figure out the gas pedal next.

No one needs an excuse to think about whiskey. :schooled::sneak:

I had a great trip to pull-n-save yesterday. Total price: $4 plus tax. The guy just charged me for miscellanies yard parts. (y)

My main goal was to find some metric brake hoses after playing vehicle-roulette for two hours on Rockauto with no success. I needed ~19” hoses with an inverted flare on one end and a 10mm banjo on the other. I found what I needed on an ‘01 Infinity QX4. I made some little tabs that I drilled, tapped and bolted to the frame.

I needed some flare fittings for the steering box lines. I found them on a ‘75 Chevy C10 pickup. I used them to make a Volvo-pump-to-Chevy-box pressure hose.

I routed the lines around the steering shaft and under the front of the oil pan.

I also picked up four bump stops, a Toyota solid hub flange (to carry as a spare in case a locking hub explodes), and six hub studs and tapered cones/washers/nuts (online stores want $10 per single set).

Today I cut the mount for the Volvo power steering reservoir in half and built a bracket for it that mounts from the pass side spring tower.

It tucks into the original battery recess in the fender.

The inside plate extends down past the flat, so it can’t turn.
