Valve cover breather / PCV?

    Find a grommet and small push in breather filter for the front hole. Then get a correct PCV valve and grommet for the rear hole and hook it up to that vacuum port on the manifold. It will keep the engine case under a slight vacuum and burn blowby gasses and oil mist. Without that slight vacuum, the blowby pressurizes the crankcase and forces oil past even good gaskets. As soon as you get your PCV stystem working, I'll bet the oil leak slows or stops.

    So just to make sure, this is where the pcv hose connects? It was plugged with a bolt before. Started the motor with my finger covering it, dam near sucked it in. Is is suppose to suck really hard?[​IMG][/URL][/IMG]

    Yep. Full manifold vacuum, which at idle is pretty strong.

    Where did you end up finding these parts? Been looking everywhere with no luck. need A PCV valve, grommet, and that mesh filter for molded hose for a 73 258 I6. Also would like to replace all vacuum lines, what size/sizes do i need? thanks
