    Hi,

I have two annoying issues (among others)...

    1) I have a fuel pump with the vacuum booster for the wiper on my F134. When I got my Jeep the wiper were connected only to the booster part of the pump. They run OK when the engine revs a little but stop at Idle. I know I am missing a line between the vacuum port on the intake manifold (currently plugged) to the pump left side I think. I am just wondering what is the correct routing for this line. In 1966, was it originally side by side with the fuel line plumbed with a hard line or was the line on the back of the firewall?

    2) when the weather is damp - my steering wheel shed black powder in my hand. Obviously the steering is not shiny anymore. Can I safely spray a coat of Tremclad high gloss black on top of it or will it ruin it. Any other products are recommended? Can I polish it? (like polishing aluminium?)

    Thanks a million

Sprayed mine with high gloss Black kitchen appliance enamel (home depot) three or four years ago (bad memory) and it still looks good. No rubbing off on my hands.

Do you have a PVC valve installed? there should be a tee fitting at the front of the block just above the pump that connects the pvc valve & vac pump to the the manifold vacuum port with a steel line that follows the fuel line.

Yes I have a PVC valve installed but it is not in above the fuel pump it is located at the intake manifold. I have the valve cover with the big "bell" on top with a short rubber hose going from there to the PVC valve. My valve cover only has a bolt and a big washer on the front. Either way you did answer my question... it is a steel line that follows the fuel line in front of the engine.

As for the paint - I gather any enamel will do.
