New here, this looks like the right place to ask this. I got my VIN out last night and just wanted to research it. Ended up with more questions than imagined.
    65 Tuxedo IV
    83 CJ5
    22 Tuxedo Park
1 did not find this number in the option list
3 CA LHD emissions, odd for a VA Jeep
    7 V6 225 with emissions
    5 build number
    4 build number

Now it has a 4 cylinder with a 3 speed? And has been in the family since new?

Thanks for any input, the V6 was an eye opener along with the unknown 1.

Your Tux serial/vin plate should read "8322-14xxx", for instance. What are the actual numbers? Can I infer that 8322-13754 is your Tux? If so that is an early December 1964 build, which would be a '65 model year. The MKIV Tuxes from '64 -'67 got their own unique set of serial numbers, separate from the regular CJ5. There is no "decoding" of these early Jeeps, like the previous Willys models, other than what order they were built in. In later years, when engine options and emission controls came to be, there were changes made to the vin tags to reflect the options. There is a page I copied that has month by month production numbers for the Tuxes.
Your Tux should have come with a F-134 with a column shift T90, and all the Tuxedo Park trim. There were only 4 exterior colors offered for Tuxes back then, with yours appearing to be Sierra Blue (code 322) if that is the under hood original color. If the light blue paint is original to your Jeep, it likey had blue upholstery on a 1/3- 2/3 bench seat, and most if not all, came with matching pleated rear fenderwell pads. If the Jeep came with a soft top, most of the blue Tuxes came with a white top, though Nordic Blue (lighter, same as interior), or Parade Blue (darker) tops were available.
There may be a small aluminum tag on the passenger side firewall with paint and trim colors.

    Donny,
Thank you! I did not put together the pages I was looking at for the year Jeep. Yes that is the VIN 832213754. It still Sierra Blue, seats changed to singles now. Has a F-134 motor not sure if original my wife's dad says it was swapped or rebuilt after freeze plug issues one winter. And a column shift.

Obviously I am new here and to Jeeps. Ran with the VW vanagon camper group for awhile so have an idea of my learning curve. Looking forward to putting this back on the road.[IMG]

Rory, We might know some of the same folks in the Vanagon circles. I still drive my '86 Syncro (not a Westy, though) a couple days a week. I was one of the very early Suby swaps, and according to Hobart Kennedy, was the first to transplant a 6 cylinder Subaru into a Vanagon. That was back around 1996. 22 years ago, I took a 17,000 mile trip around the Lower 48 in it, prior to the engine swap.
My dad bought a Tux back in '65, and I still have most of it today, though its had two donor tubs, and in need of a third.
You could definitely say I grew up with it!
