    Hi All,

I have a 1950 cj3a with a l134 motor I am trying to restore. There appears to be oil leakage around the the timing chain cover. I want to pull the cover and check the chain, clean up everything, install new gaskets etc. The problem is after 2 hours I cannot find a single video or guide on removing the time chain cover. I assume that with the jeep in gear you remove the pulley nut, and then use a puller to pull the pulley off, then remove the nuts around the edges finally clean up etc. I can find videos on replacing the chain, if needed, but nothing on the cover. I just want to be sure that I don't damage something doing this incorreclty, is this procedure the correct one or could someone provide the correct steps...

    Thanks Again for your help

    No chain.
    Gear driven.
Unless a very early military engine has been swapped in.
    FYI.

Thanks for the info. I had no idea that it was gears, learning more everyday. Now I am not sure what to call the cover on the very front of the engine with the drive pulley coming out. Pardon my ignorance but I don't want to damage anything, are the instructions to remove that cover over correct? I just cannot find anything on it at all....

    Thanks ardan
