When adding two cool things together becomes subtraction.
1947 Willys CJ2A | eBay
I love the concept.. I just don't love the execution.
I might really love it if the bed was widened and the wheel wells internal to the sides? I also hate bedliner on the exterior.
This is better:
I really like it!....Needs a roll bar or half cab to finish the look....maybe some different rear fenders to match the front (more like a willy truck fenders)...maybe?
Funny - to me it looks like what it is - a nice Bantam trailer slammed into the back of a Jeep. I'd love it as a CJ/Bantam pair, but as one unit it doesn't work for me.
Exactly. No visual continuity or flow of design. Very uncomfortable to look at.
The very first pickups such as the 1925 Model T Fords were similar, but had the running boards and fenders to tie it all together.
Running Boards would help.
Option B is worlds better.
Looking at it more, I feel like the Bantam is just too long and it throws the proportions off. Lop off 10-12" maybe? Same amount of trailer in front of the tires as behind? Doesn't help the flow where the trailer meets Jeep though. That's just too visually violent.
And .... let's not forget the wood plank decking in the Bed. Preferably Teak !
Ya Know, looking at his design in more detail......It almost appears that he was going for a Dump Bed ?
I've seen that second one in person, very well executed. The first one, close, so close, but missed the mark.
a CJ5 step between the cab and rear fender would help -- or a jerrycan in that space if it would fit
Good heaven's, noooo!
Love the use of the customary psychological buzzwords such as "attention getter, turns heads" and he even said everyone "seems" to love it.
Maybe they were just being kind.
Best thing is he says he's going to keep it if it doesn't sell. Yay! Wait, that's actually supposed to be a threat. More persuasive terminology like "limited time only", "while supplies last". This thing is a turd and he knows it.
KILL IT WITH FIRE!
Very Limited market for this dude...... especially here, LoL
He's been trying to sell it for a couple years now...found it mentioned on eWillys.
Can you say Super Glue? Looks like a trailer glued to a Jeep cab.
I can't access the ebay add from work (filtered)....is it running a L134? With the right engine and some sheetmetal work/running board work around the bottom of the trailer bed I still think it could be pretty awesome....I like that it has a longer bed than the 2nd one and I do like the round fenders I've decided - but it does need to the bottom edge cleaned up a bit. Put a half cab on it (or scrambler-esque roll bar with longer bed extensions) and the proportions will balance out with the long bed. What is the asking price? Maybe I'll dislike it more when I see the price....at least it doesn't have black wheels.
$14k and original drivetrain.
ok - not so excited by it anymore...I still like how it looks but that is a lot of money.
