Hello all, new to the site. Im looking at buying a model 20 t/case and Im not sure what it is. Its a Dana 20 w/ id tag numbers 300596-95 and 5351085. Anybody know what its from or a link to a site w/ id tag codes? It would be cheaper than a rebuild kit and Im wondering if the gears are compatible w/ my T-18.

Steve, there is a handful of info on Novak's website. See www.novak-adapt.com for parts and info.

The 5351085 is the Jeep P/N. From this post http://forums.vmag.com/pm-1001/messages/2890.html it would seem to be from a CJ-5 or CJ-6, '72-75 vintage.

Mmm, gears compatible? It should have a Texas bolt pattern and 6-spline input, like all other Jeep D20s. Is your T18 mated to a D20 now?

based on the number given, and through the post furnished by Tim above, I would agree. The trans number in the post furnished by Tim, shows in the parts book being listed for a 1973 CJ 258, T14 speed, used in conjunction with this D20.
I can't run the t/case number down, due to ***** factory number changes.
however, when looking up a transfer case assy, it does not specify for engines or trans, only for axle ratio. This is probably due to the speedo gears that would be installed in the unit from the factory.
my opinion, based on the books, it should work.

Thanks everyone. If it was originally mated to a T-14 the gears are compatible with a T-18 from what I can decipher on the Novak website. My jeep orginally had a 258/T14 so it should be a perfect fit. Thanks again.
