My '60 came with a stereo set into the dash, and speakers mounted on the cargo side of the wheel wells. The antenna was this T-shaped tape thingy on the inside of the windshield. Ugly installation. And, yeah, you have to turn it up to hear it when driving. Which means that when you are stopped, you become that obnoxious twerp with the boombox stereo that you can hear but he can't. So, I leave mine turned off. The two-way mounted between the header bars for my rollcage is on, though. I can hear that fairly well when running down the road.

Closing the loop on this as well. I would up needing to run resistor plugs and wires. Then everything worked perfect.

MSD, the ignition manufacturer, makes a filter to wire into the radio?
It removes alt, and distributor static .
Other vendors may also make a similar product .
If had to use these on some classic cars with hot ignition.

Bluetooth doesn’t really run the phone battery down all that much. You could use your phone as an E reader for 30 minutes and you would kill your battery more than most smart phones using Bluetooth radio for 8 hours. I do this almost everyday I work in my garage. In 8-9 hours I’ll use maybe 20% of my battery.
