I'm reposting a picture of mine since it's much different than when I brought it home last September.

Just got back from another drive to the store in the CJ2A. A couple of teenagers, I think they were brothers, went nuts over the Jeep, wanted to know all about it, looked at the engine, and asked a bunch of questions.

I think it is cool when kids get interested in stuff like this, but the younger one asked if it was really a WW2 Jeep, even after I had told them it was a 47. I guess they slept through their history lessons in school if they even teach history nowadays. I told them when that war ended, and that this was a civilian version of the war Jeep.

Every kid I grew up with knew just about everything about WW2, heck me and my friend Wade re-fought most of the battles in the woods and fields behind our houses when we were in grade school. The Army surplus stores in those days were filled with WW2 junk and we were pretty well outfitted. Even used to dress up with helmets and gear to watch "Combat" or "Rat Patrol".

The younger one asked me "What is something like that worth, about 40K ?"

I had a good laugh at that and told him he had an extra zero in his appraisal. He looked puzzled, so I told him I had about $3K in it counting the M1 Carbine I traded for it and the money I put into parts needed to put it back in serviceable condition.

I have to get going on building a new transmission for the ole gal real soon. It was screaming in pain all the way, but at least it is running, and driving real good.

That 67 CJ5 is the real jewel. It has only 33K miles, a very solid body, and after 42 years of storage I have it running very well. I have to rebuild the brake system, and a few other very minor things then it will be drivable. After that I will begin some cosmetic rehab. First time I have started out with one in this good of condition.

I backed the '71 out to go for a drive and as I was closing the garage door I thought "That's a great picture". So here it is:

My wife and I felt pretty crap today after the 2nd Moderna shot. Since we weren't getting much useful done around the place we went for a 1:15 round trip to the Geneesee Food Center:

Psst. Liquid starch works great... I haven't had to put air in my tires since adding some. Also, the 'b needs oba. (y)

Those rims are square. I’m honestly surprised they hold air as well as they do. Not much will help aside from replacement. OBA is in the plans during the rebuild. :sneak:

Gary and I went to get some ice cream yesterday in the '92 yj, I'm pleased with the jeep overall, just a little stiff on the rear, thinking about adding a couple hundred pounds behind the back seat, otherwise, people were stopping and taking pics. Still waiting on the license plate/registration for my '68! :waiting:

I envy you guys with such wide open spaces. My '73 sighs when I go for a cruise to the beach. Palm Beach County has more asphalt than gravel. As soon as my youngest finishes high school I'm out of here. Get my Jeep a proper place to run free.

She likes her trips to the Everglades though.
