So this is a T-18? At first I thought is was a T-176, since it looks like aluminum in the picture.

No, a parts store will never have that or know how to get it.

There is a shifter top rebuild kit that may include that part. I think I bought the kit through Parts Mike, though it should be available lots of places. It has a Jeep PN for just the pin, but I could not find any sellers by that PN. 912374.

Not T-18 Timgr. They don’t use that style of pin. I’d guess you’re correct in that is a transplanted T-176 or if a truck transmission maybe an NP-435. Not stock for ‘77 regardless

The numbers do me no good. Maybe helpful to others. Can you get a picture of the whole shifter top?

GIYF. I put that number into a web search and found plenty of places that say it's a casting number for a T-176.

Either your Jeep is newer than you think or that transmission was swapped in. First year a T-176 was available in a CJ-5 is 1980.

im assuming swapped tranny. I order the shifter pins, but I can only get them
A 1/4 way in and that’s only because they are tapered, is this normal?
