TH350 backed with a Dana 300. If I had to do it all over again I would have put a TH400 in it and that would have solved some of my clearance issues. That wouldn't have solved my tranny gremlins but but tranny guy has been awesome and these kind of things just happen sometimes. The good news is with these issues I've been able to fix other things I didn't like or build new things I thought I wouldn't have time for.

    Mike,

It is attached via Heim joints at the bottom (on the triangle uprights of the Currie tire rack) so it pivots down out of the way in order to still get the spare tire off. It is currently held in position by a strap but I want to build a quick latch for it so it actually looks like it is a finished piece.

    Jim,

Work has been so crazy I haven't been doing to much. I actually took the 6 out to Calico with some other Jeepers a few months ago but it was running realy poorly so I didn't get to Jeep at all with it. I was really frustrated since I hauled it all the way there for nothing. I thought it was just a dirty carb or bad gas or something and I worked on it all weekend and had the carb off about a dozen times. I finally gave up and parked it in the garage when I got home and didn't have time to even check anything out until last weekend.

I figured why not just try and start her and she if she'd run (or not) As it turns out everything seemed to be fine so I drove up the back side of Saddleback mountain and then down Ortega home. I drove about 30 miles both slow and on the highway and everything seemed fine. I parked her back the garage and now I'm just scratching my head wondering why the thing was giving me fits in the desert. I'm not sure what to think now. Kind of afraid to take her back out and have the same thing happen again.

I followed your whole Rubicon trip and wished the whole time I was up there with you guys. I'll keep looking for the next trip and hopefully my work won't get in the way. I see you are at it again with another upgrade to your 6, good luck with that!

Reid......I was on my way home from work several months ago and stopped to get a soda, when I came out of the store the 6 would not fire off. I walked home and returned w/ a array of parts and tools. I changed fuel filters/ checked gas flow at ythe pump etc. etc., still no love. Last thing I did was blast the carb inside and out w/ carb cleaner...turned the key and it fired right off like nothing had happened, havn't had a problem since (remember it's my DD). I think something was plugging the venturi's and blowing it out cleared it
Wonder if your problem was something similiar?

Mine would start and run but I really had to feather the throttle to keep it running. Almost seemed to blubber like it was rich but stumbled like it was running out of fuel. Very herky jerky to try and drive like that.

Any updates on the rig? Did you ever get it running better? Is it still for sale?

    Thanks!
