Heres the problem, I got some seats from Dan ( thanks again) I can make the driver side work with the factory mount, just some slight add on of metal.
The problem is the pass seat. I have the factory low back fold and tumble (that needs some PB Blaster  ) The seat is in good shape and I dont want to hack up the frame.
What have y'all used for seat mounts? I've seen some in the parts books, but they look like you cant use the underseat box with those!
    Pics maybe?
    Thanks guys.

The high backs I had were just mounted on the OE frames. The passenger side would still "tumble", it would just hit the roof as it went up. No toolbox, but might be enough clearance there if there had been. Pass. side always sat high though.

Does the pass seat bolt to the frame then? It looked like it was one piece. :? Like the seat and frame were all one piece.

Sounds like it depends on the style seat that came in BamBam...Dutch had the seperate seat/frame.

It sure looked like a one piece deal.
Need to look again without my lil helper I guess. Two year olds are fun but they make it real hard to work on the Jeep. ;)

Well I just looked at it and its one piece.
Guess the tool box is not that big of a deal.

Or buy a later-style passenger seat frame to use instead. It'd be an easy mount.

Storage room in an ECJ is worth keeping!

I would say just make a quick tubing frame, and make to front monuts with bolts that have been grinded down, and mount them like the old seats. Just recreate the originals. wouldnt be that hard, the worst thing is just sitting there and grinding the sidees of the bolts so it can slide in at 45 degrees. You should be able to use the tool box :)

i did that this weekend... not too bad a job, but it took most the day with the lack of proper tools to get stuff done. i've still got the somewhat stock passenger frame sitting around here somewhere... missing the pivot studs though (they got reused in the little experiment).

FWIW - Both Baby John and Joe Klosterman have fabbed up some slick seat mounts for aftermarket seats. I'm betting that you can find pictures of both in their Webshots albums (link in their sig lines).

Yes, my jeep had seat frames just like the ones in the link above.

I bought low back bestop classics for mine originally, and mounted them to those frames.

The drivers side bolts right up but the pass side required very minor mods. Since the layout of the bolts in the seat was different than the holes in the frame, I cut a piece of 18 ga metal to fit the bottom of the seat and simply laid out two sets of holes in the plate metal. One to fit the seat and the other to fit the frame.

I bolted the plate to the frame and then sat the seat in place and bolted the seat to the plate.

Later, I didn't like the fact that these particular frames don't sit level so I built a new frame spanning the length of the jeep from door opening to door opening.

I've got pics if you like.

Joes, looks alot better than mine so you might want his pics.
