Got to outboard the front springs, got to rotate the knuckles. And If your running a Dana 18 the centered axle won't line up and there will be a ton of angle on the rear driveshaft.

the scout has a t-90 in it also so i thought i could swap all the guts outta the scout case into the jeep t-90 case or hang the d20 scout transfer onto one of my jeep t90s and voila! well, in the jeep world no voila! but maybe just a wow! I'll do some measuring & let y'all know. thanks

I have both a Scout 80 and 800 out in the yard. The width would be an issue, but perches can be changed. It has 27s for both axles, which is the same as most jeeps of the era in the front, I would not swap in the rear 27 over a stock 44 axle as well.

Why are you looking at this setup?

The 80's and some very early 800's did have 27's in the rear. Mid 800's had tapered axle 44's and some of the late 800's had flanged 44 rears. Narrower than Scout 2's but iirc wider than CJ 44. All Scouts factory had 27 fronts up to the '72 Scout 2. Many had Powerlocks. If you're going to the trouble of putting in a front Scout it would be much better to use a '75-'79 Wagoneer front or a Scout 2 44 front with all the issues those have.....

well i have a busted d18 case & thought about using the d20 outta the scout, which leads to needing the centered axle from the scout, which changes the ratio unless i use both axles- sheeesh! what a bag of snakes! i spose it would be easier just to throw the tub onto the scout chassis! i think i think too much, my head hurts

You need to change both to have matching gear ratios, or not bother hooking up the front drive shaft and just run it as a two wheel drive vehicle.

ok new plan. i am going to scrap ALL the scouts after i strip the axles, trans & transfers for the internals. having scouts & jeeps on the same property is getting to be like having TWO wives. i sold my m715 today so i am down to ONLY two m38a1 carcases, a '74, '64 & a '60 cj-5. how did this happen?

Probably the same way one ends up with 2 wives :)

In my case - the Scouts are one of the kids - I only have to work on them with him...
